Creatively Indigenous Birchbark Appliqué T-shirt

Our Creatively Indigenous Birchbark Appliqué t-shirt honors one of our oldest art forms: birchbark appliqué. Throughout history, Anishinaabe people would adorn items, such as birchbark baskets, by sewing layers of birchbark together to form beautiful designs. This t-shirt features the appliqué design, “Blooming Against the Grain” on a birchbark fan. This fan, a part of a woodland regalia set, won 1st place in the 2025 Santa Fe Indian Art Market juried competition in the Diverse Arts category.
